Obituary for William Heald

William “Bill” Heald, 66, of Vernon, CT formerly of Manchester, CT passed away suddenly in his home on March 9, 2017. He was born to Alfred, Sr and Louise Heald on January 18, 1951. He grew up in Enfield, CT graduating from Enfield High in 1970 and immediately joining the US Army and later the National Guard where he remained active for years. He enjoyed years of catering and cooking for friends and family alike. He was an active member of Boy Scout Troop 108 in Enfield, CT in his childhood.

He is survived by his loving and cherished wife of 37 years, Carol Bauman Heald. His siblings; brother Alfred (Fred) Heald Jr and his wife Sherri from Tolland, CT his sisters; Margaret (Peg) Branham of Peoria, AZ, Linda Michaud of Enfield, CT and Florence Sawyer of Storrs Mansfield, CT. He is also survived by his four loving step-sons; Robert Clark and Priscilla Lutz of Uncasville, CT; John Clark and his wife Carrie of Columbia, CT; James Clark and his wife Janet of Andover, CT and Stephen Clark and his wife Michelle of Manchester, CT.

His grandchildren were very special to him: Chelsea and her husband Zack Simeon of Deland, NY, Lindsay Clark of Andover, CT; Alexandra Clark of East Hartford, CT; Riley, Madison, and Braeden Clark of Manchester, CT; Mason Clark of Coventry, CT. He is also survived by his sister’s-in-law Susan Russon of St. Pete, FL and Nancy Bremer of Baltimore, MD.

His friendship and joy will also be missed by his many friends at “the shop” and the Shell Gas Station where his picture is on display.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Thursday, March 16th at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St. Manchester, from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Jimmy Fund. (c/o Dana-Farber Cancer Institute P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168).
